The number forty (Arbaeen) holds a special place in Islamic, mystical, social, and even historical culture. From the maturity of prophets at the age of forty, and the recommendation to pray for forty believers, to the tradition of memorizing forty hadiths and nutritional values, all emphasize the significance of this number. In the history of the Iranian Revolution as well, Arbaeen gatherings played a pivotal role in sustaining the people’s movement. In this context, the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (AS) is considered a sign of faith and Shi’a identity.
